Munnar – Climate and Seasons

The region in and around Munnar varies in height from 1,600 meters (5,200 ft) to 1,800 meters (5,900 ft) above mean sea level. Munnar enjoys a salubrious climate with temperatures ranging between 10 °C (50 °F) and 0 °C (32 °F) in the winter and 8 °C (46.4 °F) and 16 °C (60.8 °F) in the summer.

Summer – March to May:

Summers are pleasantly cool providing the perfect getaway from the sweaty plains. Temperatures range from 15 °C to 25 °C . You can enjoy a whole range of holiday activities – sightseeing, trekking, rock-climbing, plantation visits,etc.
Winter – November to February:

Winter, the best season to visit Munnar, has its own charm and ‘feel good’ factors. It’s a tribute to one’s heart, mind and the soul. It’s an ideal season for tourists wanting to spend the Christmas vacation and enjoy New Year celebrations with fun filled trekking, rock climbing and rappelling.
Monsoon – June to August:

A monsoon vacation is best enjoyed in the comfort of your cottage or just watching the beautiful waterfalls of Cheeyappara and Chinnakanal. Monsoon is a good season for the rain lovers with its own charisma in monsoon. In fact, it offers a revitalizing energy with full of greenery and high mountains during the season.
September to October:

When rains have stopped and the temperature is moderate, this is a splendid season to pursue your holiday activities. It is fun for mountaineering at the Anamudi Peak or simply trekking in the forest trails.
