Munnar In India Has Been Voted As The ‘Best Destination For Romance’ in Lonely Planet

While Europe is the preferred destination for honeymoon and Yash Chopra has spoilt us for romance with his Switzerland shenanigans, a new survey by the Lonely Planet has some surprising results. The recent ‘Lonely Planet Travel Awards 2017′ voted Munnar in Kerala, India as the most romantic destination.

The quaint hill station in Kerala is a beautiful, pious place that personifies love and scenic grandeur. The winners for the awards are chosen by travellers in an online survey that has various parameters to judge a place.

“It is overwhelming to know that Kerala has been gaining popularity as India’s most preferred destination among the Indian travellers. The tourism department will continue to keep up the positive momentum”, said P Bala Kiran, the director for Kerala Tourism Board.  The lovely hill station is home to some magnificent waterfalls and many tea estates.

Your Switzerland shenanigans can wait, cos it’s time to book tickets for Munnar with your bae.
